Client: Craigavon Area Hospital

This project is located in Craigavon Area Hospital and is an adjoining area of the main hospital. This contract was completed in February 2009 and was a 12 week refurbishment of the old Dermatology Unit. The mechanical services installation comprised of removing all services within the existing site area and installing new heating, plumbing, medical gases and air conditioning system to the new Unit. The heating system involved tying into an existing plant room within the hospital and the new radiator circuits were fed off the steam heat exchanger. The radiators are all antibacterial LST radiators for clinical use and no pipes were allowed to be shown on the surface. The plumbing installation involved supplying and installing new IPS sanitary ware throughout the project and contained certain specialist items such as Bedpan washers, Hydraulic baths and Slophoppers. To keep all of the pipe work hidden from view involved a large amount of co?ordination with the design team, and certain areas that posed problems were dealt with in an efficient and cost effective manner. The air conditioning system is comprised mainly of an air balanced mechanical ventilation system with a VRF system to provide finer control over the building.
The project was completed on time, within budget and handed over to the Health Estates to their satisfaction.Download project document
